Popular Destinations
Costa Teguise
Visit the beautiful man-made resort of Costa Teguise. Ideal for those who may have limited mobility, Costa Teguise is completely flat, and is lined with shops, bars and cafes, so has everything you need in one resort.
Centered around the sandy beach of Las Cucharas, this resort was created in the 1970’s to bring more tourism to Lanzarote.
Located on a bit of the island that ‘sticks out’ Costa Teguise is typically more windy than most parts of the island, making it perfect for Windsurfing and Paragliding.
It is also home to the island’s oldest Golf Course, and plenty of incredible Hiking trails.
Playa Blanca
Relax on Lanzarote’s newest resort, Playa Blanca. Located on the southern tip of Lanzarote, it is spread out along the coast, but is completely flat like Costa Teguise. It is filled with gorgeous beaches that has points where you can hire pedalos and jet skis.
You could easily spend a week there and not eat at the same restaurant twice, as Playa Blanca is packed with restaurants and bars, as well as many designer clothes and souvenir shops.
Accommodation here is generally more upmarket and can set you back a few more pennies than the other resorts on the island; it is also quite far away from the airport, a return taxi won’t leave you with much change from 100 Euros.
Puerto del Carmen
Lanzarote’s first resort, Puerto del Carmen, boasts a strip of beaches reaching 6km, with many bars and restaurants along it.
Puerto del Carmen has a more bustling nightlife and tends to attract young people to the area, but there’s still plenty to do for everyone !
There is also a marina where you can hire a boat and explore the coast of the island, make sure to book a Scuba Diving tour and discover Lanzarote’s spectacular marine life.

Travel Risks in Lanzarote
Lanzarote has very low crime rates, but you should exercise normal caution in regards to your belongings, and keep an eye on your valuables at all times, as pickpockets can often operate in built up areas.
Lanzarote is notoriously hot, so be sure to drink lots of water and pack a lot of sun cream; slather it on to avoid sunburn!
There is also a risk of spiking drinks in Lanzarote, especially if you are a young woman. Never leave your drink unattended, and make sure you can see your bartender making it. If you suspect you have been spiked, or are in need of any emergency service, dial 112 for help!
