Popular Destinations in The Canary Islands
Gran Canaria
This island has received a UNESCO honour, and its Micronesian flora and dense forest make it the perfect destination to get lost in the wildlife.
It is also a hub for health and wellness, with many believing the climate is the perfect catalyst for recovery.
With over 60km of beaches, it is filled with quaint and gorgeous seaside towns where you can sunbathe on the sand or participate in some watersports.
Tenerife is the most famous island, which is great for a vibrant and fun-filled holiday in the sun.
Visit the Teide National Park and marvel at the beautiful volcano Mount Teide. The volcano means most beaches are filled with lovely black sand and clear waters, perfect for relaxing and an excellent holiday photo backdrop.
Drink wine on the beach in Lanzarote. Famed for its gorgeous wineries, rolling brown hills, and volcanic landscape, you can take a camel ride to trot along the terrain or hike along this UNESCO heritage site.
Many come to Lanzarote for the vibrant party scene and sunny beaches, but the island offers much more.
Fuerteventura
Bask in 150km of beachfront in Fuerteventura. Known for its gorgeous cheeses, be sure to sample the local cuisine, full of fresh and local flavours.
Fuerteventura is famous for Windsurfing and other watersports with waves up to two metres.
Fuerteventura is home to the famous Corralejo Natural Park, which hosts vast expanses of golden sand, seemingly endless and filled with unique wildlife.
La Palma
Stargaze on the beach in La Palma. Grab a prime spot of sand in the morning and stay there till sundown.
Due to the limited pollution in The Canary Islands, you'll be able to see every star crystal clear, making it an astrology lover's paradise.
La Palma trails take you through the lush, green vegetation and stunning waterfalls of Los Tilos Forest, or go the Volcano route, which is highly regarded as one of the world's most beautiful hikes, and give yourself a view of the whole island.
La Palma also boasts excellent salt pans, where you can see salt extracted and buy it locally on the island.

Travel Risks in The Canary Islands
Crime rates in Spain and The Canary Islands are low, but the most common is theft. This can be by pickpockets or directly from your hotel room. Make sure you keep all of your valuables inside a safe, especially your travel documents and passports.
Beware of thieves using forms of distraction, such as asking for directions, and always be mindful of your belongings.
Thieves are also known to pose as police officers to steal your documents.
Always ask to see credentials before handing anything over, and only show them your passport after you have checked their credentials.
Due to its location and amount of volcanic activity, there is an increased risk of Natural catastrophes such as earthquakes in The Canary Islands.
