Is there extra premium to pay if I am going Horse Riding holiday ?
There is no extra premium to pay for Horse Riding, although you will need to make sure it has been selected and that it appears on your Travel Insurance Certificate.

What happens if when Horse Riding abroad, I fall off the horse and get injured, how does the insurance cover me ?
We will provide Medical Expenses and Repatriation to your home country for any injuries whilst Horse Riding abroad.
What protective gear do I need to be wearing in order that the Travel Insurance remains valid ?
- Riding Helmet - This should be the correct fit, wearing a helmet can prevent you from serious head injury.
- Proper Riding Boots - These will stop you from your feet sliding out of the stirrup.
- Jodhpurs - Made of stretchy material that will allow you to move more freely with your horse.
- Protective Jacket - protection from unnecessary cuts and abrasions.
If I have a pre existing medical condition, can I still get Travel Insurance policy for my Horse Riding holiday ?

If I take out an Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance policy, are there any restrictions on the number of Horse Riding holidays I can take ?
There are no restrictions as to how many trips you can take and take part in Horse Riding. You should be aware that each trip must be within the trip duration that is stated on your Travel Insurance Certificate. Please feel free to get a quote online: Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance.
If I am travelling for a long period of time, such as a Gap Year or just exploring the world for a long period of time, can I get a policy for the duration of the trip and I am going to be Horse Riding ?
Our Longstay / Backpacker policy does cover Horse Riding as an activity whilst you are travelling. You can extend the policy at anytime and can be extended up to 2 years. It allows for one trip back to your home country during the trip. There is no extra premium for Horse Riding. This activity will need to be shown on the Travel Insurance Certificate.
What is the age limit for a JS Travel Insurance Policy for Horse Riding ?
The age limit online is 74 years of age and 54 years or age for a Longstay / Backpacker policy. We do have other Insurance Providers, that can cover Horse Riding and with no upper age limit. You would need to contact us for a quote.
What happens if I go on holiday and decide whilst I am there that I want to go Horse Riding ?
You will need to contact us so that we can add Horse Riding to your Travel Insurance Certificate. As mentioned, there is no extra premium to pay to add this to your policy.
You should contact us by telephone or by email and we can amend the policy and add Horse Riding to the Sports and Activities that you are taking part in.
What happens if I book an actual Horse Riding Holiday and I cannot ride due to injury before I depart from your home country ?
You can make a claim for cancellation, if you have selected the JS Essential, JS Essential Plus or the JS Superior policy these are the policies that cover Cancellation of a trip due to illness or injury before you leave your home country.
What is the difference between a Travel Insurance Policy that covers Horse Riding and Horse Jumping ?
Horse Riding is a leisure activity which usually involves riding in the countryside or even on a beach, whereas Horse Jumping is an Equestrian activity. We can provide cover for both.
If you do plan to go Horse Riding and will be doing any jumps, you must select Horse Jumping as well so Horse Riding so that you are fully covered for both.
