  • Mountain Rescue and Air Ambulance
  • Personal Liability
  • Cancellation or Curtailment
  • Trip Abandonment

Extra cover such as Money, Travel Delay and Failure of Carrier are usually within the higher cover options. Please have a look at the full Policy Wording Booklet for details.

Levels of Insurance  Cover

How to get the cheapest Single Trip price ?

When looking for a Single Trip policy,  make sure you have the correct and suitable level of cover for your trip or holiday .

If you  think am going to get the cheapest  quote . Check the cover and ask yourself

1. Do I need cancellation cover ?

If you are travelling the next day or in a few days  time then you can probaly risk not including Cancellation cover , this will reduce the premium . If its a reallly cheap trip like a weekend  away or you have managed to get cheap flights and hotel (or you are camping or staying with a friend ) then do you really need Cancellation cover of up to  £2,500 ?

2. Do I need cover for Bagagge and Personal Effects ?

Again if you are just going away for a weekend and taking hand luggage with some clothes thrown in then do you actually need £1,500 of Baggage and Personal Effects Cover . Also check your Home Insurance Policy you may already be covered for this Benefit on it while you are abroad . Not having Baggage Cover again will make your SIngle Trip Travel Insurance premium cheaper .

When to get a more Comprehensive Policy

Baggage Cover

If you are travelling with expensive items such as cameras and jewellery, you should select a policy that covers these items. Check that the single article limit for baggage or valuables will cover the loss, theft or damage of your items. If it doesnt then contact us and we can look for a suitable policy .

Cancellation Cover

If you are booking your holiday a long time in advacne and its an expensive one then make sure you have adequate cover for Cancellation .

Sports and Activities

If your Single Trip Travel Insurance involves any particular Sport or Activity then you need to ensure that it is added to the Policy , this may be included as Standard ( ie : no increase in premium eg : Cycling , Sailing or Horse Riding ) but for other Activities there may be a loading on the Premium .

Pre Existing Medical Conditions

Importnat here if you have any , then declare them . As if you have a claim that pertains to any  and you have'nt declared them then then your Claim will not be paid .

Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance

If you do travel more than once or twice a year, it might be more cost effective to purchase an Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance policy.

Family Single Trip Travel Insurance

If you are travelling ona Single Trip  with your family, you should look at our Family Travel Insurance policy. This type of policy can save you money as Children under the age of 17 are half price of the Adult premium.

Group Travel Insurance

For Group Travel Insurance, we can provide a discount depending on how many are in the group. Please note that those who are under the age of 17, the premium is half of the adult price, so it can be economical to take out a group policy, especially if you are a School or Church group travelling together on a Single Trip .

European Health Insurance Card

For those who are travelling to Europe, it is a good idea to take your European Health Insurance Card with you, as this will cover some medical expenses in certain European countries. This is not a replacement for Travel Insurance as it does not cover Repatriation or any Pre Existing Medical Conditions.

Period of Insurance

Means if a Single Trip Cover is selected:

This is from the time of the day you depart the UK or Ireland until the time and  day your return . This is Insurance for the whole schedule of Benefits  covered in this timespan .

The only exception is Cancellation which kicks in teh minute you purchase the Policy to teh day you depart

In addition, if you have a Single Trip policy, your policy covers you for up to one return visit to your home in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands, before the intended return date of the trip up to a maximum of 14 days. This excludes any return for which a claim is being made as a result of Emergency Medical Repatriation or Curtailment. Cover is suspended from the time you arrive at your arrival point in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands and starts again when you leave the immigration control of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands Airport or Port on your return abroad. During this period no cover is provided by the policy.

The period of insurance is automatically extended for the period of the delay in the event that your return to your home area is unavoidably delayed due to an event insured by the policy.
