Top Ski Seasonaires Travel Insurance FAQs

1. Why do I need insurance when I get a Carte Neige or Austrian Alps Answer and a GHIC card for the Season?

The big part missing is Repatriation, which is part of the Medical coverage to 5M. There are also other benefits, such as cancellation and personal possession, as in the Ski Season Policy.

2. Am I able to ski or snowboard every day under this Policy?

Yes, this policy offers unlimited skiing. You can ski every single day of the season, from December to April or November to May, if you choose to.

3. If I injure myself during the season and I have to return home, am I covered?

All of our policies cover Repatriation back to your home country. This benefit is part of Medical Expenses. Some of the reasons for Repatriation are due to medical treatment not being available in your location, or the Emergency Assistance Company considering it to be necessary for you to be returned to your home for further treatment.

4. Is normal travel insurance included in the Policy when I am not skiing or boarding?

Yes, we cover you for any illness (including COVID-19) and all other benefits apply, see COVID-19 cover at the bottom of the page.

5. Am I able to upgrade the Policy to cover off-piste without a guide within its duration?

This is a question we get asked many times. Yes, you can. This is particularly relevant if you are progressing in your skiing or boarding and are starting to be more adventurous.

6. If I Ski Off-piste, is there Search and Rescue covered on this ski seasonaire policy?

This policy will cover rescue in the event of an emergency or where it is medically necessary. If you have been located and need rescuing from the situation, then you will be covered.

7. Does the Ski Season Policy cover any accidents that I have while working in the resort?

Yes, it will cover you for bar work and chalet hosting.

8. What are the age limits of the Ski Season Policy?

  • 18 - 65 years - Europe

  • 18 - 65 years - USA/Canada

9. Why do Season Policies for the USA and Canada cost more than Policies for Europe?

The medical care costs are a lot higher in the USA/Canada compared to any other geographical region, as there is no public medical treatment available.
