All of our policies include an Emergency Assistance line to call.

3. Does this Endurance Cycling policy cover me for Search and Rescue?

5. Does standard Cycling Travel Insurance cover me for Endurance Cycling Events?
Standard Leisure Cycling would not cover Endurance Cycle Events; most events are 7 to 10 days long and between 3200 and 4200 km long.
You must have Endurance Cycle Events covered on your cover to have a valid policy.
Most endurance events require you to submit your travel policy as mandatory before participating.
6. Is my bike covered for when I am riding in the race
No, we do not cover any bicycle whilst in use, including Endurance Cycling, Cycle Racing, Touring, and more.
This policy covers Owned Activity Equipment up to £1,500 (single article/limit/pair: £750) whilst your bike is in transit or locked storage for any accidental damage, loss or theft.
This is based on Wear, Tear, and Depreciation Deductions; find out more in the Policy Wording.
7. Does this policy cover me if the Endurance Race is the sole purpose of my trip?
Yes, This policy will cover you for the Endurance Cycle race you intend to take part in as the sole purpose of your trip, meaning you will be covered for the whole time you are away and while taking part in the race.
8. I plan on participating in multiple endurance cycle events. Can I get an Annual Policy?
Yes, we can offer Annual Multi Trip Policies for those participating in Multiple Endurance cycle events like the Transcontinental, TransPyrnees, Pan Celtic, and more; we offer 31-day maximum trip length days per trip with unlimited cycle days.

10. Is it mandatory to wear a cycle helmet on this policy for it to be valid?
Yes, you must make sure you are wearing a cycle helmet at all times for the policy to be valid.
You should follow all the rules the race provider gives you; most endurance cycle events require you to wear a cycling helmet, have bike lights and hold a Travel Insurance Policy.
Most races now use the Dot Track system, which you can watch on Dotwatcher during the races.

What Makes it an Endurance Cycle Event?
There are a few points that make an endurance cycle race different from a regular cycle race; here are 5 of the main points:
Distance: Endurance Events are much longer than standard cycle races; anything over 100 miles is considered an endurance cycle event.
Endurance cycle events can stretch up to 3000+ miles; for example, the Race Across America.
Self-supported: Most Cycling Endurance events are self-supported, meaning you must be responsible for your navigation, food, water, and repairs.
Time constraints: Some events have time constraints, meaning that you must finish the race within a specific time; this often adds pressure and is an extra thing to consider.
Terrain: The Terrain can vary during endurance cycle events, be it road cycling, trails, or mountains; this can often be even more challenging.
Weather: You can face several weather conditions during an endurance event, be that hot or cold, rain or snow; this all plays a massive part in the success or failure of your endurance event. Be prepared for all weather conditions.
Endurance Cycling Annual Multi-Trip Benefits
If you participate in the same Endurance Cycling Event every year or in multiple races, then taking out an annual policy to cover may be a good idea.
31-Day Maximum Trip Length Days: Our Annual Multi-Trip policies offer a 31-day maximum trip length, including unlimited Endurance Cycling days.
Cost Effective: If you travel multiple times a year for leisure or Endurance Cycle events, then getting a policy every time can be an added extra cost to every trip; however, an Annual approach can save you money overall and allow you to travel as many times as you like.
Convenience: As well as saving you money, it can also save you time searching around for a policy every time you travel.
Peace of Mind: An annual policy gives you peace of mind because you know you have your cover in place already when booking a holiday or an Endurance cycle event, and your travel insurance benefits are included, such as Medical and Repatriation, Cancellation, Activity Equipment, and more.
Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
If you have pre-existing medical conditions and plan to participate in Endurance Cycling, we can provide you with a policy.
We have several providers (Adventures) who can offer travel insurance, including Cycle (Cross-Continental) Endurance Cycling if you have a pre-existing medical condition.
