Where is it Best to do Off Piste Skiing?
There are plenty of resorts around the world that provide exciting off-piste areas. If the resort is at a higher altitude, the chances are there will be lots of untouched snow.
You should be aware that in some countries off-piste skiing is against the law and should not be attempted. You could lose your ski pass or even worse find yourself in a prison cell for the night!
When you are off-piste, the dangers might not be obvious, such as hidden rocks and very thick snow in which you might get stuck. It might be an idea to go with a Guide until you become familiar with the terrain.
Check the Weather Report
It is good to have a look at the day's weather report to see if Off Piste Skiing / Snowboarding is a good idea or not. If there is heavy snow forecast or fog this might not be the best time to go Off Piste.
Every Ski Resort will have Avalanche Warnings and Reports available each day, so make sure you check their website or go to the Resort Management Office for an update.
Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
If you have pre-existing medical conditions and you plan to participate in Off Piste Skiing / Snowboarding whilst travelling abroad, we can provide you with a policy.
On the quote page, you need to select Hazardous Activity Pack C.
Please check the Policy Wording for any Restrictions or Exclusions.
