Travel Risks in Corfu
Most visits to Greece are trouble-free, but theft of passports, wallets and handbags are common on the train and in crowded tourist places. Make sure to keep an eye on your belongings, and keep your valuables in a safe in your hotel.
Beggars are common in Greece, but you will rarely come across a violent or aggressive beggar.
Avoid organised protests and demonstrations, as these can start out peaceful and end up turning violent.
Make sure you carry bug spray, as insects also love the hot weather of Corfu, and a lovely day at the beach could be ruined in a second by the sting of a pesky wasp. It is also advised to watch out for jellyfish along the coast.
