Ski Racing Travel Insurance

If you are planning a trip abroad and you will be Ski Racing, you will need to have a Travel Insurance policy in place before you leave your home.

Ski Racing includes several different types of Downhill Skiing. Popular types of Ski Racing are Alpine Skiing and Speed Skiing, which is one of the fastest land based, non motorised sports. Ski Racing often involves speeding down a snowy slope while slaloming through flagged poles. This is arguably the most well-known type of Ski Racing, it is an Olympic sport and is included in many ski events and competitions around the world.

Please Note: At the moment we can only provide Single Trip policies for individuals under the age of 18 years.

Please select: Ski Racing (Other Than Ski School).

Common Injuries

With the introduction of greater safety measures and precautions, including crash pads, safety nets and more clearly marked courses, Ski Racing is safer now then it once was.

However, as an extreme Winter Sport, the precedent for sustaining an injury whilst partaking in Ski Racing is still high.

Many of the injuries occur as a result of the Skier losing control and veering off the marked course, often resulting in a collision with another object or Skier. Common injuries that can be incurred from Ski Racing include:

  • Knee injuries
  • Broken bones
  • Muscle strain
  • Muscle sprain
  • Skiers thumb
  • Death
