Ski Racing (Training) Travel Insurance

Ski Racing is one of the most exciting Winter Sports and includes several different types of Downhill Skiing. Popular types of Ski Racing are Alpine Skiing and Speed Skiing, which is one of the fastest land based, non motorised sports. Ski Racing often involves speeding down a snowy slope while slaloming through flagged poles. As it is a high velocity sport, Ski Racing requires skill, proper technique and experience. All these things can only be developed and gained through Training. Ski Racing Training is done on slopes in mountainous areas that receive plenty of snow in winter.

You can get a policy online for Ski Racing (Training) on our ADVENTURES website. Please select Ski Racing (Ski School).

The policies with our Adventure policy only covers Single Trip for anyone aged 18 years or younger. If you require a quote for an Annual policy, you will need to call us and we can provide you with a quote through a different provider.

To get a quote by telephone or email, contact us on 0800 047 5065 (FREE) or 01273 773 017 info@jsinsurance.co.uk

Common Injuries whilst Ski Racing

With the introduction of greater safety measures and precautions, including crash pads, safety nets and more clearly marked courses, Ski Racing is safer now than it once was.

However, as an extreme Winter Sport, the likelihood of sustaining an injury whilst partaking in Ski Racing, both in a race and while Training, is still high. Many of the injuries occur as a result of the skier losing control and veering off the marked course, often resulting in a collision with another object or Skier. Common injuries that can be incurred from Ski Racing include:

To help reduce the risk of serious injury, it is important to ensure you wear the correct protective gear when Skiing, including a helmet.

If you are training for Ski Racing, whether it is on holiday or closer to home, make sure your Travel Insurance policy covers this high risk sport. If you are going Skiing only once a year, you will be all set with our Single Trip policy. However, when Training for a ski race, you will undoubtedly spend more time on the slopes. So, that is when our Annual policy comes into play.

Ski Racing Equipment

A pair of skis and a pair of ski poles are needed to go Ski Racing. The skis need to be well maintained to assure good sliding, while the poles are essential for the skiers to keep their balance. Additional equipment includes ski clothing, a helmet and ski boots.

Important Information

You are required at all times to wear the appropriate safety equipment, for example protective clothing and / or suitable head protection.

This Sport does not provide Accidental Death & Disability Benefit or Personal Liability cover.
