Popular Destinations for Gorilla Trekking

There are only three countries in the world where you can go Gorilla Trekking and observe Gorillas in the wild. Western lowland Gorillas live in the ancient forests of the Congo, while Mountain Gorillas, of which only 700 individuals are left in the wild, are found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda and in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Central Africa is where you need to be if you want to spot Gorillas in their natural habitat.

Common Injuries

It is critically important to make sure that you purchase proper Travel Insurance before travelling to central Africa and going on a Gorilla trek for various reasons.

First, this is a tropical rain forest destination and tropical diseases are present. Absolutely make sure to get all the required vaccination before embarking on your trip, note that some vaccinations consist of more than one shot, so take care to sort this out weeks, if not months, before you plan on leaving.

Second, as this involves Trekking through rain forests, treks can last many hours which can be exhausting and challenging, there is always a chance of getting injured.

Important Information

You must ensure that you do not participate in Gorilla Trekking for more than 90 days in any one Period of Insurance.

This activity does not provide Accidental Death & Disability Benefit or Personal Liability cover.
