Renewing Your Passport

Save yourself unnecessary effort and money and don't leave it till last minute to renew your passport. It is common that many countries maintain that your passport has more than six months remaining on it to travel. However you are still able to travel if you have less than six months left. You also need to renew passports if your pages are full as most countries want nice, clean pages to stamp.

Don’t worry if you think that you may have left your passport too late to renew. If there are more than two weeks left before you depart for your travels, you are eligible for the one-week fast track service. Your passport can be renewed and returned to you in one week for £91. You will be required to take your form, photographs and payment personally to a Passport Office. Forms can be found at your local post office or Identity and Passport Service. You can also apply for your passport online where they will print off the completed form and mail it to you to sign.

UK Passport Offices are located in – London, Liverpool, Petersborough, Belfast, Glasgow, Newport and Durham.

If you require a new passport due to loss or theft, you will need to report this to the Identity and Passport Service. Stolen passports also need to be reported to the police and an LS01 form completed with the crime reference number quoted by the police. Report lost or stolen passports to the police and the nearest UK high commission or embassy if occurs while abroad. It is always best to take copies of your passport before you leave to travel and if possible, scan copies of the passport into an email account.
