Common Injuries
Playing Polo comes with the inherent risk associated with any equestrian sport. For this reason, it is essential to get Travel Insurance that covers the sport before leaving the country if you wish to play Polo whilst on holiday or if you are travelling with the sole purpose of playing Polo.
In the first case, you will be sufficiently covered by our Single Trip policy. Still, in the second case, if you are an actual Polo Player, you will need our Annual Multi-Trip policy that covers multiple trips within the timespan of one year.
Many injuries tend to occur from an infraction of the rules or by overuse of the mallet by other players. The face and torso are the areas of the body that most commonly incur an injury.
It is essential to wear protective gear when playing Polo, including a helmet with a face protector, to minimise the risk of sustaining serious injury.
