Common Injuries

One essential part of warming up is stretching. As a very physical combat sport, Judo is relatively easy to sustain injuries. Therefore, Judoka must warm up properly before participating in an Amateur Competition.

Even though it's a non-violent and exceptionally fair sport, kicking and hitting, for example, are not allowed. Judokas could still be thrown on the floor or have their limbs or even heads locked in awkward, uncomfortable holds or grips.

Prevent Serious Injuries

  • Warm up and stretch properly before training or matches.
  • Train and practice under the guidance of a professional, licensed coach.
  • Practice and repeat offensive and defensive moves.
  • Tap the floor and acknowledge when others are tapping as well.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions

If you have pre-existing medical conditions and plan to participate in Judo (Competition) whilst travelling abroad, we can provide you with a policy.

Our provider (Adventures) can offer travel insurance if you have a pre-existing medical condition.

Please select Martial Arts - Judo, which automatically covers you for Judo (Amateur Competition).
