Common Injuries from Football Training

Hamstring Strain

This is when the Hamstring muscle gets torn, with different degrees of tears. To prevent this from happening, warm up the power for 20 minutes, stretch it and get it 1 or 2 degrees warmer.

It is crucial before a game, as most injuries occur in a game situation rather than training. If you get a hamstring injury, it's R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation).

Sprained Ankle

There is mainly ligament damage, damage to the ankle capsule, and soft tissue damage. Common football injuries can be prevented by strapping around the ankles and using ankle braces to reduce the chance of injury.

Knee Cartilage Tear

This is a frequent Football injury due to all the turning and twisting when playing. It is a bit misleading as the meniscus in the knee is damaged.

There's not much you can do to prevent this, as it's usually the position of the knee bearing that causes this to occur. Solid quads and hamstrings always help if a lot of pressure is put on the knee.

Hernia

This is a groin caused by twisting, slipping, spa, printing, and kicking. Core Strength and stability exercises can prevent a hernia from happening.

If these areas can be strengthened, the abdomen and pelvis, the body can take more of the strain, and thus the injury is less likely.

A.C.L. (Anterior Cruciate Ligament)

This Ligament connects the thigh bone to the shin bone. It stops too much knee rotation and is an essential knee component. You can be injured by falling awkwardly and often get A.C.L. injuries.

Using a Wobble Board can prevent this and help when trying to heal this injury. Wobble Boards help improve the nerves around the knee and help with balance and stability.

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
