JS Travel Insurance can provide an additional cover option on our policies to provide Epidemic or Pandemic travel restriction cover.
This may be of interest due to the fact that at the moment the Coronavirus outbreak, is causing concern and some travel restrictions have and may in the future be put in place around the world.
We will pay £50 for each full 24 hours (up to £500) if you are prevented from leaving a country due to legitimate government or state action which results in the prevention of individual travel and suspension of scheduled transport facilities to and from that country due to an epidemic or pandemic occurance.
This cover will help you pay for additional costs such as accommodation and travel in the country you are staying in as well as any other extras that you may require.

What is an Epidemic or Pandemic?
An Epidemic is an outbreak of a contagious disease that spreads rapidly and extensively and affecting many individuals simultaneously in an area or a population.
A Pandemic is an Epidemic over a wide geographic area and affecting a large proportion of the population.
Restrictions and Exclusions
- You are not travelling against the travel advice or recommendations published by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or World Health Organisation applicable at the time you purchased the extension.
- You must provide us with any information we may reasonably require to confirm that you were in the affected area and that all travel to and from the area was prohibited.
- You have not travelled to an area where the possibility of an epidemic or pandemic occurence has aleady been announced.
