Turners Syndrome Travel Insurance:

Turners Syndrome is a condition that only affects women and is the absence or abnormality of one or both of the sex chromosomes.

Travel advice:

A person suffering from Turners Syndrome can suffer from a number of symptoms.

These can include webbing of the neck, infertility, wider spaced nipples, eye problems, high blood pressure, thyroid, heart and kidney problems.

This can then cause a number of issues when travelling.

If you have Turners Syndrome and are planning on going on holiday, there are certain things that you will need to take into consideration.

• Check with your physician that it is safe for you to embark on a trip
• If you are on any medication make sure you carry enough with you to last the entire trip, plus any extras in case of delay or emergency
• Carry a recent prescription from your doctor
• If travelling by airplane, do leg and feet exercises prevent the blood from clotting
• Wear anti thrombosis stockings or DVT socks to help prevent the onset of Deep Vein Thrombosis when flying
• If you suffer from heart problems or high blood pressure, do not travel to areas of a high altitude, as this will put more pressure on the heart
• Equally, do not partake in sports such as Scuba Diving, as the pressure amounting from the depths you will travel to will equally put pressure on your heart
• Try to plan a relaxing holiday that will not require you to partake in any strenuous activity that you are not used to doing
