Spain is located in Western Europe on the Iberian Peninsula.
Spanish Residents have unlimited access to countries within the European Union although Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man require work permits.
Many countries within the EU accept the Spanish Identity Card as a passport.
Countries that issue permits on arrival are:
Armenia, Azerbijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mozambique, Nepal, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Spanish Residents can visit over 160 countries without a Visa.
When returning from countries outside the European Union passengers are allowed to bring in 200 cigarettes, 250g of tobacco, and 1 litre of spirits over 22% volume, or 2 litres of spirits or aperitifs made of wine or similar beverages less than 22% volume. Animal products originating from a country outside of the European Union are not permitted to be brought back into the country.
If you want to go on holiday with your pets, you must first check with the correct authority for all the rules and regulations regarding travelling with animals. These can vary according to the animal and the destination you are travelling to.
