Lithuania is country situated in Northern Europe and one of the Baltic states. If you are a Lithuanian citizen wishing to travel outside of the country, it is vitally important you are properly covered with travel insurance.

Visa Requirements:

Visa requirements for travelling outside Lithuania will entirely depend on where in the world you want to go on holiday.

Members of the European Union are able to travel freely around the European Union without a visa, as well as some other countries outside of it. However, other countries, such as Thailand, China and Australia will require a visa when going on holiday there.

The way you can get a visa will again depend on the individual policies of the country. Some places, including Egypt and Nepal, will grant you a visa on entry to the country.

For other places, though, you will need to acquire a visa ahead of your holiday.

This can be done a number of ways: either through your travel agent; via email with an online application; visiting the embassy of the country you are going on holiday to; or occasionally, through your travel agent.

Check with your travel agent for the appropriate information regarding visas before you go on holiday. When going on holiday, it is vital to ensure you have travel insurance, regardless of where in the world you are travelling to.

Importing Products:

If you have been on holiday outside of Lithuania and wish to bring products back into the country with you, the policies of Customs differ according to where in the world you went on holiday to.

If you have travelled to a country within the European Union, the amount of, for example, alcohol that you are allowed to bring back into Lithuania with you will be more than if you have travelled outside of the European Union.

Travelling with Pets:

If you want to bring a pet back into the country after being on holiday, it is important to check with the correct authority with regards to their policies before you travel.

The animals must be shown to be free from disease, with a valid certificate stating this to be the case from a vet, but you will not be allowed to bring a bird back into Lithuania if you have been in a country that has been infected with bird flu.
