Visa Requirements:
When you are going on holiday outside of Ireland, it is vitally important to ensure that you and your possessions are adequately covered with travel insurance.
The visa you will need when going on holiday outside of Ireland will depend on where you want to go on holiday to. Countries such as Russia, Thailand, Australia and China will all require you to have a visa on entering their country.
Some countries will give you a visa on arrival, for others you will have to acquire a visa either through your travel agent, online or by visiting the embassy of the country you wish to go on holiday to. Check with your travel agent before you go on holiday to see where you will need a visa and how you should go about getting it.
Importing Goods:
When you are coming back into Ireland after a holiday, the products and the amounts you are allowed to bring back in with you for your personal use will depend on whether you have been on holiday within the European Union or outside of it.
For example, you are allowed to bring in different amounts of tobacco and liqueur, depending on the form the tobacco takes, the alcohol volume level and whether this has come from within or outside of the European Union.
You may not bring animal products back into the country with you when you have been on holiday outside of Ireland.
Wherever you go on holiday to, make sure you and your possessions are covered with travel insurance.
Travelling with Pets:
When you wish to go on holiday with your pets, check with the necessary authority as to the regulations of doing do.
You are allowed to travel with up to five animals, but they must be properly vaccinated, free from disease and identifiable by microchip as well.
