Finnish Resident Travel Insurance:
Finland is a Nordic country situated in Northern Europe and is bordered by Sweden, Norway, Russia and Estonia. All Finnish citizens should obtain travel insurance before going on holiday.
Visa Requirements:
For Residents of Finland, your visa requirement will vary according to the destination you are going on holiday to. For many of the countries that require you to possess a visa when on holiday there, you will be issued your visa on arrival to the country. Countries that will give you a visa on arrival in the country for your holiday include Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan.
Other locations such as Australia will require you to submit a visa application before you travel to the country, which can be done online and via email.
Other travel destinations require you to get a visa from the embassy of the country you are visiting. Sometimes this can all be done through you travel agent. If you want to go on holiday to China for example, you will need to visit the countries embassies. Wherever you are travelling on holiday to, make sure you are fully covered with travel insurance.
Importing products back into the country:
When returning to Finland from your holiday, Customs will have strict policies on which products you are able to bring back into the country. Finnish residents who have been on holiday outside of the European Union are able to bring in. When returning from countries outside the European Union passengers are allowed to bring certain amounts of tobacco and alcohol for their own personal use. For the exact amounts and products, check the Customs website.
Travelling with pets:
If you want to take your pets with you when you go on holiday, you are able to do so. Cats and dogs can be checked as baggage, but birds will require a special certificate before you are able to travel with them.
