Bulgaria is a country situated in Southern Europe, bordered by Romania, Serbia, Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and the Black Sea.
Visa Requirements:
The visa requirements for travel outside of the country will depend on the area to which you are travelling. Certain countries will require you to have a visa for travel, such as Australia, Canada, China (not including Hong Kong or Macau), Cote d Ivoire, Guinea, India, Iran, Mongolia, the United States of America and Venezuela. Other countries will not require you to have a visa, however.
When returning to Bulgaria with products for personal use purchased from the European Union, passengers are allowed to bring into the country 800 cigarettes, or 1kg of smoking tobacco, and 10 litres of spirits over 22% or 20 litres of alcoholic beverages less than 22%.
When returning from countries outside the European Union passengers are allowed to bring in 200 cigarettes 250g of tobacco, and 1 litre of spirits, or 2 litres of wine.
Residents of Bulgaria are not permitted to bring animal products back into the country from abroad. If you wish to travel with your pets, there are a number of things to consider first. The conditions for travel with your pet will depend on where you are travelling to, first of all, within your county or outside of it. It will also be necessary to have with you a certificate from a Vet declaring the health of the animal and that it is free of disease issued no more than five days before travel. A Rabies Inoculation Certificate, issued over 30 days but less than 12 months before travel by a Vet within the country of residence, is also required.
