Lymphoma is cancer of the immune system.
There around 35 types of lymphoma, as this is a cancer that affects a group of cells called lymphocytes.
Lymphocytes attack infectious materials in the body.
There are two major types of lymphoma: Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's.
The exact causes of lymphoma are not known, but factors that may increase chances of developing the disease are:

- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Autoimmune disease
- Immune suppression therapy
- Exposure to toxic chemicals
Symptoms of lymphoma include:
- Swelling in the neck, groin or underarm
- Numbness
- Pins and needles
- Abdominal discomfort caused by enlarged spleen
- Fever
- Sweating
- Weight loss
- Fatigue
- Itching
- Breathlessness
Treatment for lymphoma usually includes chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
