As with all extreme winter sports, glacier skiing is not without its risks and dangers.

Some of the most common risks associated with the sport include:

  • Falling into a hidden crevasse
  • Falling into a crevasse because of a weak snow bridge or snow collapsing under the skier
  • Losing control sliding down a steep slope
  • Getting caught in an avalanche
  • Sudden change in weather leaving you stranded and freezing These could then result in injuries such as:

  • Concussion
  • Abrasions
  • Contusions
  • Strains
  • Sprains
  • Hypothermia
  • Death

Insurance Cover:

Single Trip: 6 months maximum duration (60-69 year olds: 3 months). Annual Multi-Trip: 60 days maximum duration.
