The screen is made from re-inforced Gorilla Glass, meaning that it is tougher and harder to break than other phones of its type.

The Dell Streak follows on from the Dell Axim line of Personal Digital Assistants that the company sold from 2002-2007.

Since its launch, users have complained that some of the graphics are not as good as they should be as the technical specs are not that high and the screen is small compared to other phones of this type.

There have also been complaints that the Dell Streak is too cumbersome to work as a functional phone but not big enough, or capable enough, to work as well as other tablet PCs.

There have also been concerns about the battery life of the Streak, with the general consensus being that it is severely limited and needs frequent re-charging.

An Android 2.1 update for the Dell Streak was made available in September 2010, however there were widespread complaints about bugs that subsequently affected the phone.

Users reported randomly flashing LEDs, problems with split screening and slowness in the reception of texts and emails.

The update also caused some previously installed applications to be wiped completely, and contact lists to disappear.

The good news is that Dell has been swift to rectify problems and has been happy to repair or replace malfunctioning units.

To find the IMEI serial number on your Dell Streak, type in *#06# on the keyboard.

You can download anti-virus software such as Norton.

This means that you will be able to download applications without having to worry about viruses and bugs as Norton scans everything before it is put on to your phone.

If there is a suspected problem with an application it will block the download and inform you as to why.

You can also download Lookout software.

As well as providing an anti-virus service, Lookout will also help you locate your phone if it is lost and has remote locking and wiping abilities for added security.
