Because cave diving is a form of penetration diving, the diver will be unable to escape from the top of the cave and will thus have to navigate the cave system to escape. For this reason, it is vital that the diver is equipped with enough breathing gas to prevent drowning.

There can be very limited or no visibility.

Strong water currents or unexpected water slow systems in the caves can cause problems for divers.

It is vitally important that if you go cave diving you have the right equipment and are trained in the sport to avoid injury or death.
