Size and Weight

The AppleiPhone 4 is 9.3mm thick, 58.6mm wide, 115.2mm high (4.5 inches)and it weighs 137g.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is 14.6mm thick, 62mm wide, 148mm high and it weighs 161.59g.

Power and Battery

The iPhone 4 has a talk time of 7 hours, 6 hours of browsing, 40 hours of audio playback, 10 of video playback and 300 hours of standby time.

The Blackerry Torch has talk time of 5.5 hours on GSM, 5.8 hours on UMTS, standby time of 18 days on GSM and 14 days on UMTS, music playback is for 30 hours and videoplayback is 6 hours.

Wireless and Data

Both the phones in this segment have the same specs. Both the phones have the following on board quad-band GSM/EDGE world phone coverage as well as tri-band UMTS/HSDPA 3G band coverage, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1.

Colours

The Apple iPhone 4 is available in black and white variant.

The BlackBerry Torch is currently only advertised in black. However, there are rumours that the phone will be available in white and red as well.

Storage

The Apple iPhone is available in 16gb and 32gb options, most disappointingly though it does not have a micro sd slot.

Where as the BlackBerry comes with built in 4gb memory and a microsd slot which supports up to 32gb.

Display

The Apple iPhone 4 as the so called brilliant'Retina display' with a resolution of 960X640 pixels, 360ppi and an 800:1 ratio. The display is 3.5-inch diagonal.

The BlackBerry has 3.2-inch HVGA Touchscreen display with resolution of 640x480 pixels. Blackberry has improved its touch screen technology quite significantly compared to its earlier devices.

Camera

iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera as well as a front facing camera with LED flash, moreover it also supports HD video recording with 30 (fps) at a resolution of (720p).

The BlackBerry Torch also has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, however the torch only records video in a VGA format.

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is going to be released in the UK on the 1st October, currently only Vodafone and Orange have made announcements that they will be offering the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in the UK.
