Anyone with travel insurance through HSBC (including premier and advance account holders, M&S and First Direct) can make a claim as they are paying out for the volcanic disruption. they are also not charging those who are stuck abroad to withdraw cash from overseas atm’s.

We have calls from people all the time confused over this matter. We can’t stress enough how important it is to take out travel insurance even if you have a EHIC card as it doesn’t cover you for everything. Good advice!

I agree, one of the best alternatives is to include the valuables onto an existing cover, like parents. Otherwise definately shop around for me competitive quotes
