Compared to last year, more than double the number of searches have been carried out on the web. Guernsey and Jersey being the most popular destinations to be searched for and researched by UK holiday makers.
It seems far away enough for people to believe they are leaving the UK for a holiday. There is less time wasted at airports and the islands offer great beaches and food and as the pound is so weak at the moment, the islands offer the perfect getaway.
Even though The Channel Islands are proving an attractive option, there is still a popular wish for holiday makers to travel long haul, maybe only once a year, rather than a couple of times a year. This is especially true if the flights and accommodation is cheaper than some European destinations.
